History & Background
The Ontario Hunt Camps Association Inc., formerly the Muskoka-Parry Sound Hunt Camps Association, was formed in 1962.
Such a movement of hunt camps had been discussed for several years and the plans were finalized late in the summer of 1962.
A meeting was held in the Huntsville Town Hall to prepare the first slate of officers, an agenda and some much needed resolutions were adopted and forwarded to the Fish and Wildlife departments in Toronto.
The sport of hunting is constantly facing new challenges that not only affect the sport in general, but at times its very existence. It is imperative that the voices of the sportspersons be heard as a strong, united voice.
The OHCA is such a voice.
We represent you, the sportsperson and have become a voice that is heard and recognized.
